Just recently a fair chunk of our work has come from the local sports teams. And our first bit of advice to any athlete, coach or team is have access to timely and regular soft tissue treatments.
The emphasis firstly, is on injury prevention.
Preventing injuries can be complex and opinions differ, but in our experience, successful sports people achieve this with whole body fitness, cross training, appropriate recovery sessions, good nutrition and regular soft tissue treatments. A few sports goers have recently commented at their speedy recovery post match, and the only change they have made is regular soft tissue treatments (sometimes weekly). Nice feedback!
